Stanford Federal Credit Union adds Givio to its app and online banking allowing members to donate to all their favorite charities directly from their secure and convenient banking environment.
In honor of the launch, Stanford Federal Credit Union and VISA are sponsoring a donation match, up to $30 thousand total, for the annual Summer Scamper event benefiting Stanford Medicine, Children’s Health.
Stanford, CA (June 20, 2023) – Stanford Federal Credit Union (Stanford FCU) has partnered with Givio, a Charitable Banking™ platform that enables Stanford FCU members to make an immediate community impact, the moment the inspiration strikes, directly from their accounts.
A banking industry first in California, the addition of Givio to Stanford FCU’s app and online experience allows members to simplify their charitable giving and easily track and report their donations – bringing security and convenience to the charitable giving experience. The addition of Givio also enables Stanford FCU to expand its community impact initiatives with local nonprofits through Givio powered fundraising campaigns, matching, and community-wide shared promotions.
In honor of the launch, Stanford FCU and Visa are sponsoring a $2 match for each $1 donation, up to a total of $30,000, to benefit the annual Summer Scamper, which takes place on June 25, and Stanford Medicine, Children’s Health. The matching donation program runs through June 30, 2023. Stanford FCU members can donate directly through their app or online banking and non-members can donate through Givio’s public donation page using their credit card at https://app.giv.io/campaign/495/.
“Stanford FCU has strong ties to and is a partner at events throughout the Stanford and Palo Alto community and, of course, we are proud to be a sponsor of the Summer Scamper which benefits Stanford Medicine and the Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford,” said Stanford FCU President and CEO, Joan Opp. “Something great about our members is that they have big hearts. Being able to donate and find charities easily in our app or online with Givio was such an easy ‘yes’ for us to implement to help our members pay it forward.”
“Credit unions like Stanford FCU set the example for what it means to truly care about the communities they’re serving,” said Gary Carr, Co-founder and CEO of Givio. “By bringing Givio into their online banking experience, they’re giving their members an easier, faster, and more secure way to make their donations to the organizations they care about while simultaneously providing their neighborhood nonprofits with a free platform to boost their fundraising and even expand their donor network.”
Furthermore, Givio offers donors a trustworthy donation experience because only vetted, IRS approved, tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations are available in the Givio database. Givio and its sister organization, Givio Charitable Foundation, manage the tax-receipting and disbursement process.
